Custom Original Paintings
Commission an original acrylic painting from Alene Nitzky — crafted around your vision, your space, and the emotions you want to live with every day.
How It Works
This is the most important part. Alene wants to understand what you are looking for, why her work speaks to you, how it makes you feel, and which pieces inspired you to reach out. This connection between you and the work is what allows you to enjoy it for many years.
Once the vision is clear, Alene will establish the physical details — size, price, payment terms, delivery method, and ownership and copyright terms. A 50% deposit secures your place on the commission schedule.
Every painting goes through phases — including an early ugly phase — before evolving into something beautiful. Alene will send photos as the piece nears completion. She will not deliver a painting she doesn't love herself.
Once you approve the finished piece, the remaining balance is due. The painting ships carefully packaged anywhere in the U.S. Alene will keep you informed throughout.
Pricing
Every commission is priced individually based on size, complexity, and materials.
Generally, a piece with a maximum of 24" on two sides will be under $1,000. Larger works — such as 24×30 or 30×40 — typically range from $1,200 to $2,000 or more. These prices do not include shipping or sales tax. Keep in mind that shipping costs can be substantial for very large pieces.
A 50% deposit is required to begin; the remainder is due upon your approval of the finished work.
Request a QuoteWhat to Expect
The creative process is unpredictable, and all paintings go through phases as they are worked to completion. They tend to go through an early ugly phase, but then evolve into something beautiful. If you commission a piece, Alene wants you to love it — and she needs to love it, too. She will not send a painting she doesn't love.
Alene will send you photos when appropriate as the piece nears completion. She wants it to evoke the same feelings you had when you first saw her work. Generally, allow up to 90 days for a large painting — though most of the time it won't take that long. During busy show seasons or workshop periods, completion may take up to 120 days or longer.
A few conversations during the process are expected, but please understand that too much input from the buyer can interfere with the creative process. The goal is to build a relationship based on trust and confidence — and there is no greater compliment than a client who recommends Alene to someone else, or returns for a second piece.
Please read through the commission agreement carefully and feel free to reach out with any questions before getting started.

Absolutely. Alene works collaboratively with collectors to incorporate meaningful subjects, color preferences, and emotional tone — while bringing her signature gestural style to the work. The initial conversation is the most important step in getting this right.
Currently commissions ship within the U.S. only. Contact Alene directly to discuss international arrangements.
The 50% deposit is non-refundable once work has begun. Full details on adjustments, revisions, and resolution are outlined in the commission agreement.
