Be the first to hear about new artwork, upcoming exhibitions, and special events. Alene sends out a short quarterly newsletter. Just four times a year! No spam! Just the facts, ma'am! And beautiful artwork!
I am happy to announce that my work will be on exhibit in The Gallery at Gallipott in Fort Collins, Colorado, from March to June of 2025. Please come see the gallery during that time, and information on the opening reception can be found on my events page.
I have started a You Tube channel that you can follow and subscribe to, @AleneNitzkyArt, with short videos, each video of about a minute will feature the answer to common questions I get about my artwork and being an artist, with fun content and scenery in Colorado. I'm also getting a lot of requests for classes locally, and that is something I'm considering for Fall or Winter of 2025-2026. If you're interested, send me an email on the contact form.
My workshop season goes from approximately February through June each year. This is a chance for me to continue my professional development as an artist, improve my skills, learn from other artists around the world. This spring I'll be enrolled in The Gesture of Landscape workshop with Insa Hoffmann from Berlin, Germany, and the Creative Visionary Program with Nicholas Wilton from Sausalito, California.

Looking at art disconnects the viewer from everyday thoughts and worries. It has the effect of refreshing, relaxing, and restoring the mind. Abstract paintings have similar effects on the artist doing the work of creating a piece of art, and the viewer of that piece.
There is a body of scientific evidence supporting the stress-reduction, cognitive, and mental health-improving effects of viewing beautiful works of art. Stopping during your day to look at a painting can produce a much-needed sense of tranquility in a hectic world.
Viewing nature is therapeutic, and physically accessing natural areas can be hard to fit into a daily schedule. Abstract landscapes allow your mind to wander and discern your own meaning from the piece of art you're viewing, much like following a path in the forest you've never taken before.
Alene experiences the outdoors on a daily basis through running, hiking, and climbing mountains near her home in Colorado. She draws inspiration from colors in nature and the effects of light, wind, and weather on the landscapes she paints. She approaches her painting as a means of transporting the viewer to those places emotionally and visually through art.
